Product Description
The first of the Steinbach Christmas Traditions Nutcracker Series, the Candy Cane Choir Master was revealed in 2006. According to folklore, the Candy Cane legend started in 1670 when the choirmaster at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany handed out curved sugar sticks to parishioners during the tedious Living Creche ceremony. The red and white striped candy cane tradition developed out of that ceremony. This nutcracker is stylishly dressed with a black velvet hat decorated with pearls and feathers. A fur-trimmed cape covers his silky red coat and in one hand he holds a candy can just for you! First in Steinbach's Christmas Traditions Series

Steinbach Nutcrackers : A Family Tradition According to the late Herr Christian Steinbach, patriarch of the Steinbach nutcracker family, "A nutcracker is a symbolic figure, one that gives happiness and protects your home and family." The Steinbach family knows this well and has been producing fine wood products in Germany since 1832. We feature a large selection of nutcrackers signed by Christian Steinbach (fifth generation), Karla Steinbach (sixth generation) and Karolin Steinbach (seventh generation). We are independent Steinbach dealer, proud to stock the world's largest selections of German Steinbach nutcrackers. We're stocking the entire 2013 Steinbach nutcracker collection. Our Steinbach store features nutcrackers from many different Steinbach collections, including Wizard of Oz, A Christmas Carol, Disney, 12 Days of Christmas, and many more. We also have a large selection of Chubby, Troll and Mini Steinbach nutcrackers, and ornaments. The name Steinbach is recognized the world over for their unique wood carved and hand painted creations developed over generations by the Steinbach Family. Steinbach Nutcrackers are the most popular German nutcrackers in the world and are handed down from generation to generation. The nutcrackers vary greatly in price depending on their collectibility and availability.
